Painting Guide - Deathwing Knight

In this painting log, you will read the steps and paints used to achieve the Deathwing Knight model pictured above. From start to finish, this took around 6 hours to complete at my painting speed. Prime the model with Citadel's Zandri Dust spray. Basecoat all armor areas with Ushabti Bone. Wash all armor areas with Agrax Earthshade. Basecoat tunic areas with Caliban Green. Paint armor areas with Ushabti Bone, leaving wash in the recesses. Basecoat all gold, green, red, and brown areas. Basecoat all black, white, metal, and face areas. Wash face with Reikland Fleshshade, and all non-bone colored areas with Nuln Oil Paint raised robe areas with Caliban Green, leaving the wash in the recesses. Highlight robes by painting with warpstone glow, ensuring that the paint is very thin. Apply several layers, gradually reapplying over the most raised areas to give it the highlight.

Painting the Midget Pyromaniac Brigade

A while back, my friend who was moving out of using his Eldar gave me some of his older Fire Dragon models. I love using them, and I would like to buy another squad soon to either run two 5 man units or a 10 man unit. However, like many of the other old models, these fire dragons are much shorter and more compact than the other modern models. It's endearing, but I can't wait to paint the newer fire dragon models.

The Wraithknight

Last Wednesday I picked up the newest Eldar model, the Wraithknight! I've always loved bringing the Wraithlord in my games because of the size of the model, but this is a whole new level. I was very impressed with how well the model was designed; everything seemed to almost "snap" together while still allowing a lot of room for posing preference. I went with what seemed to be the default pose though, because I like he way it looks. Here were my steps in the process:
